One Village One India

One Village One India — Dheena Devobhava

Serving since 2011

In this world always take the position of the giver. Give everything and look for no returns.

Swami Vivekananda

Give love, give help, give service, give any little thing you can, but keep out barter. Make no conditions and none will be imposed.

One Village One India is a registered public charitable trust working in the villages of Vinjamur mandal, in Nellore, and on the streets of Hyderabad. We serve not by religion, not by region, not by race or by any other human-created classification — but from one person to another.

Our service

What we actually do

Six programmes, each running on its own annual rhythm — the school calendar, the winter, the festivals. Every rupee is spent within a few hours' drive of where it was given, and someone from the trust is present when it is spent.

Since 2011

Study-hour snacks

Government-school students preparing for board exams sit through evening study hours hungry, and it shows in the results. We serve snacks through the pre-exam season. Results improved, and so did enrolment.

5 schools · Vinjamur mandal · approx. ₹20,000 per class per year
Since 2011

School infrastructure

Land and facilities for a primary school building, benches, library supplies, a cycle stand, and a submersible pump that finally gave a Hyderabad government school of 800 students its own drinking water.

Every Sankranthi

Honouring municipal workers

The people who keep our streets clean are the least thanked workers in any Indian town. Each Sankranthi we stop, gather them, and honour them publicly with a gift and a word of thanks.

Festivals for families who have none

Groceries, sweets and fireworks at Diwali so that families without means still have a festival — 50 families in 2020, and more each year since.

YouTube channel

Watch the work, and take it up where you live

We film what we do — not to show ourselves, but so that someone in another village can see exactly how a blanket drive or a study-hour snacks programme is actually run, what it costs, and what to expect.

If you take up a similar project where you live, that is the outcome we want most. Watch, then write to us and we will tell you everything we have learned.
